Mr Tim Clough qualified from the Universities of St Andrews, Scotland and Manchester in 1992. He is an NHS Consultant at Wrightington Hospital and his clinical practice is exclusively surgery of the ankle and foot and sports injuries.
He gained specialist training in Manchester before completing an International Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship in Canada. During his training he won both the Sanofi Synthelabo Travelling Fellowship prize (2002) and the British Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) Fellowship Prize (2003).
Tim has published many articles in foot and ankle and he regularly presents as a Faculty Member at regional, national and international meetings. He is the PROMS (Patient Related Outcome Measure Score) Lead at his NHS Trust in foot and ankle and the senior foot and ankle specialist at the Trust.
Tim has been invited onto the international faculty evaluating ankle joint replacement design. He is a specialist adviser to NICE for the Interventional Procedures Programme, a member of the International Advisory Board and Editorial Committee for the journal ‘The Foot’, and an elected member of the Scientific Committee for BOFAS. He is trained as an Appraiser and performs yearly appraisals at his Trust. He has also been trained by the NHS National Clinical Assessment Service (NCAS) as a case investigator. He is a currently a clinical and educational supervisor at Wrightington for the BOA appointed Transitional Fellow in Foot and Ankle.
