Prof Caroline McIntosh

Caroline McIntosh is Chair of the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine and Head of the School of Health Sciences, NUI Galway. Prior to this role Caroline held an academic post at the University of Huddersfield and a clinical post in the NHS in North Yorkshire. Caroline has a specialist interest diabetic foot disease. And has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers. Caroline has co-edited the text “Lower Extremity Wounds: A problem-based Approach”, and undertook her PhD in the need to build and disseminate evidence-based wound care. Caroline has acted as co-applicant and Principal Investigator (PI) for number of clinical interventional trials. Caroline was President of the Wound Management Association of Ireland from 2013-2015. She sits on the Research and Development Committee and the Professoriate of the College of Podiatry, London, UK and is Associate Editor for Trials.
