Dr John Rogers is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) with an NHS practice at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He has a strong interest in medical education and works as a Training Programme Director for SEM trainees in North West England and as a visiting Professor at Manchester Metropolitan University.
He has a particular clinical interest in endurance and running based sports. He is passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities in overcoming their musculoskeletal and medical problems related to their specific physical activity, exercise and sporting goals.
John holds additional qualifications in musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and regularly performs ultrasound, x-ray and CT guided soft tissue, spinal and joint injections to help manage pain and inflammation and to enhance rehabilitation. He works closely with a multidisciplinary team of medical and surgical consultants, physiotherapists and sport science colleagues in coordinating care for people with a wide range of medical and musculoskeletal problems.
