Dr Jessica Bruce
After completing my Masters degree in Engineering Science at The University of Oxford, I successfully combined my academic knowledge with my love of running and stayed at Oxford to study for a D.Phil. in running injuries and biomechanics.
Whilst coming to the end of my research, I began to question why the incredible technology I was using in my research was not accessible to those who would benefit from it the most: real people with musculoskeletal pain during walking and running. Immediately after completing my D.Phil., I founded Run3D in order to make that happen. My presentation at The Foot and Ankle Show will share the highs and lows of making my vision a reality, from the challenges of raising capital to the pride of seeing our platform being used around the world to help people walk and run without pain.
Outside of work, I have two young children and continue to run competitively – I hold the world-record for running a marathon whilst pushing my two children in a buggy! In 2018, I was honoured to be awarded InnovateUK’s Women in Business Innovation Award.
