David Dunning

Research Fellow & Clinical Podiatrist

David is a clinical podiatrist with nearly 40 years of experience in general practice. He has held a part time post in the biomechanics department at Staffordshire University and is now a visiting Research Fellow. He has been instrumental in the production of the MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics. He is an inaugural fellow of the College of Podiatry and of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He holds a MSc in Sports Injury and Therapy and has a keen interest in clinical biomechanics. His academic, research and his clinical experience has led him to work with elite athletes and national and international sports teams. He is the podiatrist to Stoke City Football Club and was part of the medical team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2012. He also has a research interest in footwear and the biomechanics of the at-risk foot and has worked in a variety of related clinical situations eg AR hospital in Chennai, India. He has been the Chair of the council of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and the Board of Governors of the College of Podiatry from July 2014 to July 2016. He is also associated with Dynastat biomechanics. He has a keen interest in international issues in podiatry and is the current chairman of the  International Recruitment Committee (IRC) of the International Federation of Podiatrists (FIP)
