Dave Dunning / FIP-IFP
David is a clinical podiatrist that has also held a part time post in the biomechanics department at Staffordshire University for over 20 years and is now a visiting Research Fellow. He is an inaugural fellow of the College of Podiatry (FCPodM) in the UK and also of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FFPM RCPSG). He holds a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Sports Injury and Therapy and has a keen interest in clinical biomechanics.
His academic, research and his clinical experience has led him to work with elite amateur and professional athletes and national and international sports teams. He has been the podiatrist to Stoke City Football Club for nearly 30 years and was part of the medical team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
He has a research interest in footwear and the biomechanics of the at-risk foot and has worked in a variety of related clinical situations e.g. AR Diabetic Hospital in Chennai, India and the orthopaedic and footwear department of New Cross hospital Wolverhampton UK. He has had a teaching and clinical association with Hong Kong for some years.
He has been the Chair of Council and of the Board of Governors of College of Podiatry from July 2014 to July 2016. He now has an interest in international issues in podiatry and is the Chairman of the International Recruitment Committee (IRC) of the International Federation of Podiatrists (FIP- IPF)
He is associated with a company called Dynastat Biomechanics whose main interest is in developing diagnostic and clinical tools for the advancement of foot health.
